Its that building doing that thing. Not seen in the haze is the Allen Bradley Clock Tower which we used to tell the time since neither of use wears a watch.

Its me!!! Brought my binocs. It just occured to me that I have way too many Marquette t-shirts.

A big-huge Coast Guard boat arriving outside the breakwater.

One of the little Coast Guard boats. It was pretty cool because prior to the start of the airshow, a whole bunch of boats were anchored along the show line which is dangerous if a plane crashes so these Coast Guard boats and some other types were going around moving them away. It was fun watching them go to work.

This started off the airshow. The Coast Guard did a really great demo of a water rescue with this chopper. They started by throwing a mannequin out of the helicopter from a height of about 75 feet, which everyone thought was a real person. You should have heard the gasps of horror from the audience. Then a guy jumped out from a much lower height and rescued the mannequin. One of the highlights of the day for sure.

Next the Special Forces parachute team named the Black Daggers did a demonstration.

A World War II era plane. I cant remember what it is called and I don’t remember if it was used as a bomber or for paratroopers so we’ll just call it a World War II plane. Good enough?

Here it is again with one of the Coast Guard boats in view.

Two S-3 Vikings which, from a distance, look a lot like a Harrier. This is the airplane President Bush used to land on the Aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln back in May of 2003 to announce the end of major combat operations in Iraq... Hmmmm...

An F-16!!! One of my favorite planes. Its really hard to see it in this picture but I had to include a picture because this guy’s performance was freakin’ amazing. Unlike the Blue Angels who usual fly at slower speeds, this guy was hauling ass the whole time. The best part was when he flew low over our heads and we got blasted by his exhaust. All I heard for a while were bells ringing. Another cool part was when he flew by low and then pulled straight up. He must have gotten to 12,000 feet inside of six seconds the whole while doing corkscrews.

A close up of an F-16 for your viewing pleasure.
